Sydney jazz and big band singer, Helen has sung all over Australia with some of Sydney’s best musicians. She recently wowed her audiences at the Southern Highlands Jazz Festival singing with an Artie Shaw Tribute band led by one of Sydney’s top sax and clarinet players, Trevor Rippingale and last year a Benny Goodman Tribute with the same band. She has also performed at the Manly and Dubbo Jazz festivals on several occasions.
Since her father’s passing in 2003, she has continued his legacy by directing The Sydney Sound Big Band, a 16 piece swing band, primarily performing at Rockdale RSL in Sydney, having had residency for 11 years. Helen has also worked with many other bands and musicians around Sydney, in the private and corporate arena.
Helen also hosts her own radio programme on Eastside Radio, a community based radio station in the heart of Sydney where she plays mainstream jazz from the 30’s/40’s swing era to present day jazz stars.
Helen hsas produced two CD’s on the La Brava label, with more planned.
